About

Four passionate Edmontonians are collaborating on an exciting opportunity to bring our community together on the patio of a unique, historical and stunning space – The Fairmont MacDonald Hotel patio.

We (Mack Male and Sharon Yeo) are active bloggers who have both extensively been involved in the community, and are proud to contribute our enthusiasm for this city by volunteering on a number of different committees, including the Downtown Edmonton Community League, Startup Edmonton and the Downtown Vibrancy Taskforce. We also founded the popular food truck festival What the Truck?!, which has focused on animating streets and parks in mature neighbourhoods including Downtown, Oliver and Old Strathcona since 2011.

We (Stephanie Chai and Hannah MacDonald) are engaged citizens who have recently moved (or moved back) to Edmonton this past year. We love this fair city and have been actively engaged with a number of organizations, including the Local Good, Spacing Edmonton, and Today’s Innovative Music Edmonton. We are keen and eager to build on and contribute to the impressive community momentum in this city.

The four of us are excited to be collaborating on this opportunity to re-imagine our urban spaces. While we all have full-time jobs, of which most are unrelated to food or urban development (Hannah works as a project manager for an environmental consultancy; Mack works as a manager for a software company; Sharon works in social services; and Stephanie works in land use planning), events like Blink and What the Truck?! are our voluntary contributions to capture the potential of Edmonton.
